How do we count the shapes in the line? Assign each shape a number starting with 1 to 10. The last shape you named indicates the total number of all shapes that you counted. Therefore, if you give the last shape the number 6, you have six shapes.
If you want to count shapes that are in one row, you need to determine the direction of counting - from right to left or from left to right. Start with the first figure (right or left) and move from one to another. Point to each shape and say the numbers in sequence from 1 to 10 until you count all the objects. You may use the pointer to attend, which shape you have already calculated and which not. It can be a pen, a pencil, or even your finger. Move the pointer from one shape to another and call the numbers. When you name the last shape, for example, number 7, it means that you have seven shapes in total.
Watch out to miss a single shape or count the same shape twice. Your task is to calculate how many shapes are here.
