Use the table below to find the answers.
The word on the left shows the day before. The word on the right denotes the day after.
Each week has seven days which go one after another in the following order: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Saturday is always followed by Sunday, and Monday goes after Sunday.
Monday is the first school day.
Tuesday is the second school day.
Wednesday is the third school day.
Thursday is the middle of the week and the fourth school day.
Friday is the fifth and the last school day.
Saturday is the day off when we can have a rest.
Sunday is the last day of the week and the last day off.
So, we visit school five days a week: on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. And the weekend consists of two days: Saturday and Sunday.
The order of the days of the week always remains the same. There is always Tuesday after Monday and Wednesday after Tuesday. Thursday is in the middle of the week between Wednesday and Friday. Saturday comes before Sunday, and Friday before Saturday.
Knowing this, we can easily define which day was yesterday, if it is Sunday today. Yesterday is the day before today. There is always Saturday before Sunday, so it was Saturday yesterday. And what day will be tomorrow if it’s Tuesday today? Tomorrow is the next day. There is always Wednesday after Tuesday, so tomorrow will be Wednesday.
