The quantity of any items from 0 to 5 can be indicated by a number:
One – 1
Two – 2
Three – 3
Four – 4
Five - 5
Do you know that we can denote the quantity of any objects – sweets, bananas, toys – by a number? Different quantities are indicated by different numbers. Look at the fingers of your hand. If you clench your fist, no one finger will be visible. Now raise your thumb.
We will call this quantity one. We denote one by the number 1.
Pull another finger out – you will get two.
The number that stands for two is 2.
Add another one to the two fingers.
You will get the quantity three, which is denoted by the number 3.
Add another one to three, you will get four.
This is the number 4.
And it remains to add one to the four to get five.
This is the number 5. We counted from zero to five and found out five digits:
One – 1
Two – 2
Three – 3
Four – 4
Five - 5
Remember them. You'll need them again.
