Do you know how to recognize a flat or a solid shape? You may define the shape type (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone).
How to determine a flat or a solid figure?
You may notice that flat shapes lie totally on the same plane, like on a piece of paper.
Solid figures have a corpus that can stand on a plane. They have a width, length, height, and volume. That is why we can fill them in with something.
It not difficult to find the shape type:
If you look at a sphere, you can see a solid shape that looks like a circle but has a volume.
A cone is a shape that has a volume and one vertex. Its base is a circle.
A cylinder has two bases of the same size in the shape of a circle. Here is a tip for you: from the front, the cylinder looks like a rectangle.
As you may know, a figure that consists of squares is a cube.
A prism, like a cylinder, has two identical bases (top and bottom). But it is worth saying that the cylinder has circles at the base, and the prism has polygons. The sides of the prism are called quadrilaterals.
The base of the pyramid is a polygon, and its sides are triangles. The most famous pyramids are the Egyptian Pyramids of Cheops.
