Which object is heavier? Which one is lighter? Give the correct answer in each task.

Detailed explanation for Math Weight; light and heavy

How do you define a light object or a heavy one? You take it in your hand and determine its weight. A heavy object pulls your hand down. The heavier the object, the more the hand goes down.

Sometimes it is easy to determine that an object is light without even touching it. Moreover, you cannot take all the objects - some of them are so large and weighty. Your experience of interacting with objects helps you in this. You know that the feather is light, because you have seen how it flies in the wind. A big cat is heavier than a small kitten, and watermelon is heavier than any of the largest bananas.

In most cases, the larger the object, the heavier it is. Look at the elephant and the dog. Obviously, the dog is much easier if the elephant is not a toy. But this is a wrong opinion, that the items that take up more space are heavier. A balloon takes up more space than a dumbbell. At the same time, a dumbbell is not lighter than a balloon.

It is because the balloon is filled with air, and the dumbbell is made of metal. And metal is heavier than air.

Now you will need all your experience and knowledge to determine which object is lighter.
