These printed materials are made for third-graders to practice comparing numbers.
On each page there are several windows with numbers for comparison. Children should compare the numbers by putting the correct sign: “<”, “>“ or "=".
How do we compare numbers? Let's take an example of 113 and 114.
Let's start with hundreds. Both there and there is “1”, so the numbers are the same for this parameter. Let's move on. Tens. Again “1” and “1”, which means that the numbers are equal here too. Moving on to ones. “3” and “4”. What's more? Of course, every third-grader knows that “4” is bigger than “3”, which means that according to this parameter, the number 114 "wins". We put in the circle the sign: "<", and move on to the next comparison.
