These printable practices are a simple activity for young students aged 8-10 years to learn Cartesian coordinate planes.
Printable learning materials for essential math topics; coordinate planes contain a dozen 2-D surfaces outlined by two number lines called the axis.
Children need to find and record coordinates of shapes located on a coordinate grid by finding two points, first on a horizontal number line, better known as the X-axis, then on a vertical or Y-axis.
From the center of the shape, students will need to draw a horizontal line to find Y-coordinate, then the vertical line to find X-coordinate.
That doesn't seem so hard! Ask the student to try and see what their lines hit numbers on the axis.
After X and Y coordinates are found, students will write "origin," the two coordinates meet point into provided space.
These learning pages work the best with black and white printers. Print these great foundational practices Cartesian coordinate planes.
Excellent math activity for the approximate U.S. school grade: 3rd and 4nd grade.
